Broken Bow Oklahoma Cabins Is The Easy Getaway From The City

Broken Bow, Oklahoma Cabins to Silence the City

Let’s take a drive outta the city for 3 days.

About 3 hours later we were at our Broken Bow, Oklahoma cabin and hitting mute on the city life noise-n-bustle for a bit.

Broken Bow, Oklahoma and their next town neighbor, Hochatown, have gone through some MEGA GROWTH in the last few years.

As we drove into town, I had Kayce from the Yellowstone drama series on repeat in my head::

It’s a scene where Kayce and his son are in town eating ice cream::

Tate:: “What’s a transplant?”
Kayce:: “It’s, umm, a person who moves to a place, and then they try to make that place just like the place they left.”

I wonder how this small town of 4,000+ feel about all the city-cationers coming to town all summer long?

We didn’t talk to everyone, but every person, excursion place, and restaurant we visited on this trip were beyond pleasant and welcoming.

So I guess the old saying still stands…

Treat others {and places} with kindness and respect, and they’ll do the same.😉

Aside from roads needing some tender, loving pot-hole repairs, Broken Bow and Hochatown are the relaxing, quiet getaway you’re searching for.

And if you find a cabin with a 2-person reading –or napping– hammock, your out-of-city relaxing becomes next-level!

Our Cabin in Broken Bow Oklahoma

We left the city behind for 3 days and drove to the state of OK

Hello, Broken Bow, Oklahoma cabin!

We stopped at the grocery store as we drove in to stock our cabin rental with a few necessities {coffee & cream for me + milk and cereal for B}.

How to plan a fun, but un-city-fied trip

  1. Find a cabin in the woods

It was just the two of us for three days, so we didn't need much.

I found a cute Broken Bow cabin in the woods through Airbnb. The hosts were fantastic! {You can also book directly through them for future stays.}

Broken Bow Vacation Rentals is another site for cabin rentals in the area.

Is It Over-Crowded?

After researching + talking to some locals, going during the week is the quietest time to visit. We went Tuesday - Thursday. Neither Broken Bow or Hochatown were crowded.

On summer weekends, however, visitors from the city flock to this quiet town. And the traffic on the 2-lane roads can be bumper-to-boat-bumper.

Remember, we’re not in the city anymore, Toto, so roll your windows down and breatheeeee in the fresh air while you mosey down the road to your excursion or dinner, or cabin.

prepping Your fun, but un-city-fied trip

2.  Look-up excursions you enjoy

I’ve mapped all the stops in my Wanderlog map for you.

Trip map created with Wanderlog, a trip planner on iOS and Android

3.  Leave your phone in airplane mode for awhile

The service was scattered in places. So save your battery, leave the city business behind, and enjoy the fresh air for a few days.

It'll all be there when you get back 💖
